Privacy notice

This notice explains what information Heat Ledger handles when you use heatledger.co.uk.

Heat Ledger is run by Chris Buckingham, as an individual. He decides how any information about visitors to this site is used.

To contact him about privacy, email hello@heatledger.co.uk.

If you email us, your message is passed to our inbox by our email forwarding service, ImprovMX.

We use your message and email address only to reply to you, and keep them only as long as we need to.

You don't need to sign up, and the site doesn't ask for your name, email address or phone number.

The calculators work out your results in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us.

If you enter a postcode to estimate your gas use, it is used only on your device, to find your region. It is not sent to us or stored.

The site does not set cookies and does not store anything on your device.

If you save or print a result, your browser makes the file on your device. It is not sent to us, and we keep no copy.

We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.

The site's fonts are stored on this site, so your browser does not contact Google for them.

The site is hosted by Netlify, which acts for us under a data processing agreement.

Like any web host, Netlify receives the technical details your browser sends with each request, such as your IP address, the page address and your browser type.

Netlify may handle this outside the UK, including in the United States, using safeguards recognised under UK law for international transfers.

Netlify's privacy statement and data processing agreement explain what it records and how long it keeps it.

Links to other websites, such as Ofgem's, take you to sites with their own privacy notices.

Because the site doesn't ask for personal details, we are unlikely to hold information that identifies you.

Under UK data protection law you can ask what information we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted.

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. Please contact us first, so we can try to put it right.
